Kindness Is Elementary — Published Book Design & Illustration
Published project · Children’s alphabet book · 2026
The project
Kindness Is Elementary is an independently published illustrated alphabet book about practicing kindness through thoughts, words, and actions. I developed the writing, illustrations, expressive lettering, cover design, page layouts, and print-ready publication files.
Illustration and visual language
The visual direction pairs energetic, layered alphabet shapes and warm, bright color with more focused interior compositions. A featured “Kindness” illustration combines a butterfly and floral line art with the phrase “Choosing compassion every day.” The Kk letter study uses oversized hand-drawn characters over a colorful abstract background, while the alphabet artwork explores playful, imperfect letterforms.
Publication design
Beyond the illustrations, I designed the dedication page and other interior layouts with attention to typography and message. The completed book brings together the visual system across its cover, alphabet artwork, and written content.
